The Life & Times of Architect Addison Mizner

Addison Mizner is widely known for introducing Mediterranean style architecture to Florida. Over the course of his career, he built over 67 structures (mostly homes) in Palm Beach and nearly 27 in Boca Raton. Though he designed many private residences his most notable work includes the famous Everglades Club (1918) and the Boca Raton Resort and Club (1925).

Nehemiah Smedley House, Williamstown MA

Completed in 1772, the Nehemiah Smedley House was once home Williamstown’s founding families- and three years later, a very infamous traitor named Benedict Arnold, slept here for the night as he was en route to help Ethan Allen take Fort Ticonderoga. Bread was also baked here for the battle of Bennington August 16, 1777- This house is a hotbed for Revolutionary war history- making it that much more intriguing.
